Bulk setup of Time Champ using Active Directory

Step1: Download the Time Champ and save this in the domain server

1. Download the Time Champ batch file

A. Login into your Time Champ account

example site address is test.timechamp.io

To login into the site click on sign in after giving the credentials 

B. Go to Users tab

Click on the Users tab 

C. Click on the download agent button

below screen will appear

D. Download the agent by selecting appropriate settings from Advanced Options

Interactive agent : The application would be seen as a visible window. the user would be potentially able to pause and resume the time collections.

Silent agent : The application would be running in the background. Users will not be able to stop the application. 

E. Download the interactive agent with automatic user creation

Automatic User Creation : If you select an auto user creation option and install. The user would be added automatically. 

After clicking on the advanced options on the download agent page, advance options are displayed like this

Check the agent type and auto-creation type

Agent type: Interactive Agent

Auto Creation: Users would be auto-created from desktop logins

Target environment: Windows server with multiple users

After selecting agent type and auto user creations Click on the Download agent button. The setup file will be downloaded.

F. Download the interactive agent with manual user creation

Manual User Creation :

For the manual user creation, we need to add the user first.

To add a user, click on the Add User in the users tab

After creating the user, select the Download agent button, click on the Advanced option

Check the agent and auto-creation type

Agent type: Interactive Agent

Auto Creation: Users would need to be added to the system manually

Target environment: Windows server with multiple users

After selecting agent type and auto user creations Click on the Download agent. The setup file will be downloaded.

G. Download the silent agent with automatic user creation

Click on the Advanced option

Check the agent type and auto-creation tabs

Agent type: Silent Agent

Auto Creation: Users would be auto-created from desktop logins

Target environment: Windows server with multiple users

After selecting agent type and auto user creations Click on the Download agent. The setup file will be downloaded.

H. Download the silent agent with manual user creation

Manual User Creation :

For the manual user creation, we need to add a user first

To add a user click on the Add User in users tab

After creating the user, select the Download agent button, click on the Advanced option

Check the agent and auto-creation type

Agent type: Silent Agent

Auto Creation: Users would need to be added to the system manually

Target environment: Windows server with multiple users

After selecting agent type and auto user creations Click on the Download agent .The setup file will be downloaded.

timechamp.bat file will be downloaded like this

3. Go to File explorer > C Drive > Windows> SYSVOL > sysvol> your domain server system > Scripts>

4. Paste the Time Champ Bat file in the above mentioned system path

Step2: Update the logon script for users in the active directory

1. Open Active Directory Users and Computers from the Administrative Tools folder 
2. Expand the domain tree, locate the users
3. Right-click the user object, select Properties.
4. The corresponding user properties will be displayed like below and click on the profile tab as shown below

5.  Input the logon script as "timechamp.bat" 

6. Click Ok

Step3: Logout and login to the remote system

Sign out completely from the system and log in back

Time Champ will get downloaded to your system

If you download the interactive agent with automatic user creation file, the following pop up is displayed like this

If you download the interactive agent with manual login, the following pop up will be displayed like this

If you download the silent agent with automatic user creation , it will be completely running in the background and user will be auto created

If you download the silent agent with manual login, you need to assign the desktop manually 

Desktop Assign : For manual user creation in silent agent we need to assign the desktop for the user on-site.

For that go to the Desktop tab

In that Desktop tab, Time Champ installed computer name is displayed in unassigned desktops tab in Desktops tab in that click on Actions

Click on the assign desktop in actions pop up

After clicking on the assign desktop button, the below screen will appear. Select the respective user name from the drop-down 

After selecting the user click on Assign and the desktop will be added to the assigned desktops list and Time Champ started running in the background.
